  4. Open the ip_modem_configuration.xml file using wordpad
  5. Click Edit Find... and type in your carrier (ie: T-Mobile, AT&T)
  6. Note For instances such as AT&T, it must be & instead of &. Also, you may need to find the original carrier of the Blackberry and enable that carrier.
  7. Change enabled="false" to enabled="true"

  8. Save the file
  9. Open the Blackberry Desktop Manager and plug in the Blackberry
  10. The IP Modem option should now appear

I have accomplished everything up to the last step where you need to save. It says access is denied. I'm not sure why but I've never had this problem before when trying to save something.

Weird...try this, right click the text file and select Properties. In the properties at the bottom you should see an option that says "Read Only". If thats checked, uncheck it. Then you should be able to save it. :D

I still get the same error message as Kam.

Access to C:\PrgramData\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\ip_modem_configuration.xml was denied.

File is not set as Read Only File. Still can't save.

Had to go to security tab and edit users to allow full control
