#InternetAPN

Access Point Name - Similar to the server the connection uses for the connection. Different APNs provide different services.

#InternetPort

The Port number used by the connection.

#Profile

The Name for the connection. Use the default or make up your own.

#Homepage

Can be set to anything if an Internet Plan is on the account such as www.google.com

#Domain

Typically left blank unless specified.

#Username

The Username for the connection provided by the Carrier.

#Password

The Password for the connection provided by the Carrier.

#ServiceType

The type of service to use. This is typically HTTP.

#DNS

DNS is typically set by the Network.

#MMSPort

The Port number used by the connection.

#MMSC

Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) - The Server address for sending/receiving Multimedia Messages.

#Authentication

This option varies on devices but typically is similar to the setting provided.

#MMSAPN

Access Point Name - Similar to the server the connection uses for the connection. Different APNs provide different services.

#MSGSize

The Maximum size for the Message supported by the carrier. A message sent that is larger then the Wireless Network supports may fail to send.

 

#UserAgent

This is similar to a profile. It is an XML file with specific settings.

#InternetProxy

The Server address to use for the connection.

Some devices require the address in the format of 000.000.000.000. (ex: 011.012.013.014)

#MMSProxy

The Server address to use for the connection.

Some devices require the address in the format of 000.000.000.000. (ex: 011.012.013.014)

#ConnectionMode

Connection mode may vary. Some devices may say HTTP with Proxy or HTTP without Proxy. It is the same as TCP with or without Proxy.

#Security

The Security level to use.

#SMSC

The number to use for sending Text Messages. It is in the phone number format.


#Bearer

Some devices will have an option for UMTS. If available, use UMTS.

#SMSBearer

Determined by the Carrier. Most carrieres use GSM (Voice network) rather than GPRS/UMTS (Data network) as Text Messaging is actually a service provided by the Voice Network and is not Data. (Multimedia Messaging uses the Data Network)

#Proxy

    Note
    the proxy only needs to be on if using the Alternate settings

 

#EmailGateway

The Email Gateway is the number used for sending Text and Picture Messages to an E-Mail address.


#ModemInitialization

The Initialization String tells the device and connection which APN to use as well as other options if required.

 

#ModemName

The Name for the connection. Use the name provided or make up your own.

#ModemPassword

The Password for the connection provided by the Carrier.

#ModemUsername

The Username for the connection provided by the Carrier.

#ModemNumber

Default GSM network phone number is *99#

Alternatively, it can be changed to *99***1# which relates to the Initialization string in use.

(ex: at+cgdcont=2,"IP","apn" would use the number *99***2#)

#ModemAPN

The Access Point Name for making a Connection using a Phone as a Modem.
